Today's Verse:

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; ~Ephesians 2:14

One of the great names of our Lord Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace from Isaiah 9:6. As the Prince of Peace, He is the giver, sustainer, and complete authority for peace. Many noble men and women have lived their lives as activists for world peace. However, Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation.” Any kind of society or world peace that might be attained will always be short-lived and subject to failure due to the imperfections and sin in every man. Let us see this morning how Jesus is our peace.

Jesus is our peace through His redemption.

“But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” The shed blood of Christ for our sins paid our sin debt in full. He made peace for us with God though the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:20). “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold... But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19). His redemption gave us peace with God. There is no more enmity and animosity between us and God. Jesus' blood gave our standing in God.

Jesus is our peace through His removal.

“Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.” Jesus took away the penalty of sin from us. Jesus removed the sentence of condemnation laid against us by the law and its ordinances. He removed the barrier between us and God and made us one with God. Instead of being foreigners and aliens, we are fellow citizens with the household of God.

Jesus is our peace through His remaking.

I am blessed that Ephesians 2:15 says, “So making peace....” As we go through this world, we face trials and troubles. Sometimes this can be unsettling and cause us worry and anxiety. As we bring our troubles to Him, He makes peace in our hearts. He makes great peace for us when we love His law. He makes perfect peace for us when we place our entire faith and trust in Him and keep our minds stayed on Him. The remaking of peace in us draws us closer and enables us to have peace even when the storm in our life is raging!

Jesus is our peace through His roadway.

“And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.” His Word is the absolute authority on peace. His blood is our roadway or access to enter boldly into the holy presence of God. This peace we have with God allows us 24/7 access to God through prayer. This is considerable and not to be understated. Without this access, we would have no means of coming to God.

Jesus is our Prince of Peace. He is the sole authority when it comes to true peace and peace that surpasses all understanding. Peace is a possession. Peace is priceless. Peace is a Person, and that Person is our Lord Jesus.

Claim His peace in your life this morning. Let His peace displace bitterness, unforgiveness, and worry. He is our peace!

Have a peace-filled God Morning!
