The Daily Grind
And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw. ~Exodus 5:13
Pharaoh told the Hebrews that they needed to do their daily tasks, or what we would call “the daily grind.” Like it or not, the daily grind is what we must do each day in order to be productive. There are things that we must accomplish that are essential for our employment, school, and church. Even more essential are the daily things we must do for a strong spiritual life.
We must be daily in the getting of wisdom.
“Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors” (Proverbs 8:34). There is happiness for the man who is daily in the Word of God, feeding his soul and adding needed wisdom to his life. We must be growing in wisdom daily. Wisdom is problem-solving. Wisdom is having foresight. Wisdom is being discerning in our thoughts. Wisdom is making the best decisions and the right decisions. Wisdom is learning from our experiences. Wisdom is knowing God. We are to walk in wisdom to them that are without. We are to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly in all wi
