Find Us Faithful

December 27, 2019

Today's Verse:

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? ~Luke 18:8

One of the most sobering realities is being found unprepared for the unannounced visit of someone very important. There is the embarrassment that we were unprepared. There are the regrets of being unprepared. We regret that we were not ready. We regret that we were not more diligent. Our Lord Jesus asked the question, “When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Will He find us faithful?

We must be faithful in our walk.

Jesus said that men ought always to pray and not to faint. Praying is a chief means by which we walk with God. Praying must be in the Spirit. Praying is the exercise of faith. “We walk by faith, not by sight.” Our walk with God must be daily. Our walk with God must be diligent. We must find the time, even when we feel like we have no time. Our walk with God must be devoted. We grow in our love for God through time in His Word and prayer. A true walk with God should be changing us in attitude, spirit, character, and willingness to sacrifice.

We must be faithful in our witness.

Most Christians accept the responsibility of being a witness for the Lord. The challenge is that many come up short in being a consistent and conscientious soulwinner. Being faithful in our witness involves passion. We must be passionate about telling the unsaved about Jesus’ saving love for us. Being faithful means we must have a plan. We must have a strategy for inviting prospects to church, going out witnessing, and seizing opportunities. Have gospel tracts ready to distribute. Use life situations to encourage others. Set a goal to witness to people throughout the week.

We must be faithful in our work.

We should be serving the Lord always. Sometimes, we get fatigued and decide to pull back or pull out. Realize that serving God has different seasons of activity. Our church just completed a very busy, but fruitful, Fall season of outreach that involved a lot of people serving in different places. If we are not careful, we will become complacent and sit when we should be serving. In order to be found faithful in our work, let us be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. In order to be found faithful in the work, we must stay at what we are doing until the task is finished. Always finish what you start. Set out to finish strong and fruitful.

We must be faithful in our watch.

Jesus was speaking about when He comes. We must watch and pray, lest we enter into temptation. We must be looking for the Blessed Hope and glorious appearing of our Saviour. Paul said that there is a crown of righteousness for those who love His appearing. In our watch, we must be found pure in character and doctrine. The last thing we should want is to be ashamed at His coming. We should also be found positive. We must live with the joy of the Lord overflowing in us. We must be found prepared. We can get so caught up with this life that we are unprepared for when Jesus comes. Lord, find us faithful!

Have a faithful God Morning!
