Oh, What Love!

Today’s Verse:

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 9:38-39

Love is the highest expression of affection, care, and relationship between and among people. Love has no language barriers. Love is caring enough about someone else you that will make their goal or problem yours. Love goes beyond the call of duty and does more than exceed expectations. Love desires to be with that person no matter what. When we think about love in spiritual terms, love is God! God is love! The holiness of love is understood through the expression of God’s love. When we think of the love of God, three simple words come to my mind: Oh, what love!

There is the amazing!

There is no love that compares to God’s love. God’s love is an unconditional love. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,” Rom. 5:8. God’s love is amazing because Christ died for every sinner. He was the Just dying for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He was the sinless One Who died for every sinner. We deserve to be punished for our sins, but God in His matchless love punished Jesus for us. Our sin debt is paid in full through the substitutionary death of Christ. We will never be able to pay back this debt. Our sins have been paid in full through His death on the cross. God’s love is amazing love!

There is the adoption.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father,” Rom. 8:14-15. Through our faith in Christ, God takes us into His wonderful family through spiritual adoption. We become sons of God through our faith in Christ as our Savior. In love, God brings each saved person into His family with full privileges as His children. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not,” 1 John 3:1. God’s love is adoption love!

There is the advocacy.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Rom. 8:31. God is for us! He is for us through Jesus as our Advocate with the Father. He is for us through the Spirit’s intercession for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered. He is for us in making all things work together for good. When this life is over, we shall receive glorification and be changed into His same image in eternity. God love is for us! God’s love is advocacy love!

There is the ability.

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Rom. 8:32. We have the ability to come to God in faith through prayer, and move His mighty hand and power on our behalf. God wants to answer our prayers! God wants to bless our exercise of faith! God wants us to think of and imagine things that He can do for us. God’s love is unsurpassable in its ability! God’s love is seen in His ability to do anything through and for us.

There is the assurance.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus! Death cannot separate us from God. Angels and principalities cannot separate us from God. There is no height or depth that can separate us from God’s love. We have an absolute assurance that His love makes us more than conquerors over circumstances, suffering, and what might look like impossible situations. Nothing can keep God’s love from us. God’s love is a satisfying love!

There is no love like God’s love. There is no person who can love like God loves! There is no greater security and satisfaction than God’s love. Oh, what love!

Have a love-saturated God Morning!
